ABOUT THE COMPANY:

4M Building Solutions (4M) is an industry leading full-service cleaning, janitorial, housekeeping, and disinfection services company. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in St. Louis, MO, 4M operates with over 4,500 team members servicing over 145 million square feet of space in corporate owner-occupied facilities, multi-tenant office buildings, and facilities supporting industrial and manufacturing, logistics, distribution, education, healthcare, and senior living. Today, 4M is led by Tim M. Murch, and owned by O2 Investment Partners (O2).

SITUATION:

Under Tim Murch’s leadership, 4M has had a strong acquisition appetite, completing 27 transactions since its founding. The scale and sophistication of 4M’s growth strategy, which has focused on building client and service density in key markets, has created a unique specialization opportunity for O2 within the fragmented janitorial services sector.

ENGAGEMENT:

O2 engaged G2 Capital Advisors (G2) as the exclusive buy-side advisor for 4M to identify, source, and activate service-aligned janitorial businesses that would extend its geographic footprint and service capabilities. G2’s mandate led to the acquisition of LCS Facility Group (LCS), a family-owned commercial cleaning provider headquartered in Poughkeepsie, NY. The acquisition offers 4M entrance into a new geographic territory, the addition of many new blue-chip clients in the healthcare, education, and commercial facility industries, and the addition of over 450 team members. “LCS is a highly respected name in commercial cleaning in New York and out-of-state markets,” said Tim Murch 4M CEO. “LCS has built its business on service reliability, integrity, and innovation and is rightly respected by area facility management professionals. Because LCS has accrued such deep reputational equity over the past two decades, it was essential for 4M to preserve the brand name.” Murch added, “I also want to extend my gratitude to G2 Capital Advisors.
