Thompson Safety (“Thompson Safety” or the “Company”) is a full-service fire and life safety business based in Houston, TX. The Company services and supplies first aid cabinets, fire equipment, safety products, personal protective equipment, heart defibrillators, and eyewash stations as well as performing safety training and other safety services. Thompson Safety has been a portfolio company of Berkshire Partners since April 2023.

SITUATION:

Thompson Safety seeks like-minded fire protection and first aid business partners to join them in the next chapter of growth. Thompson Safety provides owners and operators an opportunity to cement their legacy within a culture that values what they have created, learns from their existing capability, and delivers additional value to their customers and owners/operators. The Company has identified a clearly defined acquisition strategy to effectuate a long-term growth objective of becoming a preferred, single-source vendor for fire and life safety needs.

ENGAGEMENT:

Thompson Safety and Berkshire Partners engaged G2 Capital Advisors, LLC (“G2”) as the exclusive engaged buy-side advisor to identify acquisition targets that meet the Company’s criteria and expansion goals. G2 vetted hundreds of companies in this highly fragmented industry, conducted hands-on market outreach, and introduced qualified targets to the Company leading to the acquisition of Complete Fire Protection. The engagement is ongoing as Thompson Safety continues to pursue the acquisition of complementary companies to benefit from the platform and growth opportunity Thompson Safety provides.

OUTCOME:

Thompson Safety successfully acquired Denver, CO-based Complete Fire Protection on June 30, 2023. The acquisition extends the Company's service reach into the greater Denver, CO area and allows for deeper expertise across more complex fire protection services. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Denver, CO, Complete Fire Protection’s technicians are licensed and certified in fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, hood suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and backflows. The company’s services include inspections, monitoring, installations, and 24-hour emergency services. “We are excited to welcome the Complete Fire Protection team to the Thompson Safety family.
