ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Dennis Uniform Mfg. LLC (“Dennis” or the “Company”) is the oldest and largest provider of school uniform programs in North America, serving a diverse group of over 2,000 private and charter schools and approximately 500K customers annually. The Company was founded in 1920 and is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, and Ft. Worth, Texas. Dennis has been a portfolio company of SBJ Capital (“SBJ”) since 2017.

SITUATION:

The school uniform industry is adapting to the evolving customer expectations seen across the retail industry, including a superior e-commerce experience and flawless fulfillment processes. Since its acquisition by SBJ, Dennis has made meaningful investments to satisfy these sector changes, including a new distribution center to move to a centralized fulfillment model, requiring a technological, operational, and managerial overhaul. Dennis was seeking to raise new capital to fund its strategic investment in operations and position the Company for its next growth phase.

ENGAGEMENT:

G2 served as the exclusive financial advisor to the Company, providing combined capital markets capabilities and industry expertise from its Consumer & Retail (“C&R”) practice through an operational assessment. Leveraging the C&R financial advisory work, G2’s Capital Markets team ran a competitive process and identified financial partners who were able to provide Dennis the capital for accelerated growth following the recent investments.

OUTCOME:

In January 2024, Dennis successfully secured new capital from Origami Capital Partners, fortifying the Company’s leadership position within the industry—and for the foreseeable future. “We are pleased to support this partnership and are excited to see how the business will continue to grow and gain market share,” said Reed Upson, Managing Director within the Capital Markets practice at G2 Capital Advisors. “G2’s expert knowledge of the C&R industry and capital markets environment allowed us to quickly identify viable partners and find the best solution for Dennis.”
