Life+Gear initially was established to address the market demand for emergency preparedness products in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. After its initial success in personal consumer “safety packs”; Life+Gear entered the new and growing market for LED flashlights by incorporating patented features into its unique designs. Life+Gear went on to create a line of camping accessories and a unique fire safety technology that has been embedded into a line of fire safety nightlights.
After a series of growth equity investments backing Life+Gear’s original founders, a new management team was installed by G2 to drive profitability. These restructuring initiatives have proven Life+Gear’s profit and growth potential by refining Life+Gear’s product strategy and dramatically improving the company’s operational capabilities.
G2 served as the exclusive sell-side advisor to Life+Gear, responsible for running a robust, hands-on sale process, which ultimately resulted in a sale to a high net worth individual as the ideal equity partner for the business to assist in pushing forward its growth strategy.
