ABOUT THE COMPANY:

BWP Transport, Inc. ("BWP"), a subsidiary of Ravago Holdings America (“Ravago”), is a leading regional carrier specializing in the transportation, storage, packaging, and delivery of dry bulk materials – primarily resin. BWP serves the U.S and Canada from its headquarters in St. Clair, MI, and facilities in Barberton, OH, and Plainfield, IL.

SITUATION:

Ravago – a global resin and specialty chemicals manufacturer, distributor, and recycler – acquired BWP in 2015 to serve as an internal resource for the transportation and storage of resin. To focus on its core business, Ravago decided to carve out BWP to a partner that could continue to operate the company and support the growing requirements of Ravago’s remaining resin business.

ENGAGEMENT:

G2 served as the exclusive Sell-Side Advisor to Ravago and BWP, and ran a highly targeted and efficient sale process.

OUTCOME:

The transaction was successfully executed through a sale to A&R Logistics, Inc. ("A&R"), a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners, in June 2019. The acquisition expands A&R's presence in the Midwestern U.S. and increases its overall transportation capacity. The investment in BWP represents the first add-on acquisition for A&R in the execution of its aggressive growth strategy. With the divestiture of BWP to A&R, Ravago has found a long-term partner to support the continued growth of its resin operations.
