Situation

Post-COVID shifts in consumer demand has reshaped the cheese crisp industry, creating both challenges and opportunities. To adapt to this evolving landscape and best serve customers, Whisps decided to explore strategic alternatives, to unlock nimbler growth paths.   

Engagement

Whisps engaged G2 Capital Advisors, LLC (“G2”) as the exclusive sell-side advisor to execute a strategic sale. G2 led an accelerated process, leveraging industry expertise and deep relationships to identify the right strategic partner. With experience including complex sale processes, brand transactions and IP sales, G2 provided tailored guidance to position Whisps for a renewed stage of growth.  

Outcome

In August 2024, Whisps successfully sold its brand assets to The Farmer Companies (“Farmer”), a leading diversified portfolio of brand licensing businesses in the food sector that includes Cabot Creamery and several other prominent brands. This strategic transaction allows Whisps to shift focus entirely to product innovation and brand growth with fewer operational complexities. By joining Farmer’s ecosystem, Whisps will gain access to manufacturing partnerships, distribution networks, and resources that will enable to brand to scale efficiently, expand market reach, and unlock new opportunities within the better-for-you snacking category.
