Tim Durkin

Senior Managing Director

Tim is a Senior Managing Director and Advisor at G2 Capital Advisors with over 40 years of operational experience across a broad sector of manufacturing, industrial, and shared services businesses. He advises within the firm’s Restructuring & Revitalization practice and brings significant depth in operational turnarounds, performance improvement, and M&A execution.

Since joining G2, Tim has led and supported complex restructuring engagements, bankruptcy proceedings, and business improvement evaluations. He is often deployed to assess operational viability, identify strategic options, and establish a pragmatic, actionable plan forward. His work includes leading the operational restructuring of Leigh Fibers and supporting the company’s acquisition of Ice Recycling. Tim also served as the initial onsite assessment lead for Slade Gorton—helping define the strategy and conditions that shaped G2’s broader multi-phase mandate.

Tim has also provided leadership across several significant special situations, including serving as Chief Restructuring Officer for Copperweld, where he guided the company through reorganization, management transformation, and a successful sale process that fully repaid the bank’s investment. Additionally, he served as CEO of United Solutions, a Camber Holdings portfolio company, where he executed a multi-year operational turnaround involving management restructuring, facility consolidation, debt reduction, and the return to profitability.

Prior to joining G2, Tim spent 26 years with Koch Industries, Inc. and its portfolio of companies, where he held executive leadership roles across numerous businesses. The latter half of his tenure was primarily focused on M&A, integration and divestiture strategies, and operational turnarounds of distressed or underperforming acquisitions. Notably, he was part of the Office of the CEO at Purina Mills, where he helped lead a Chapter 11 restructuring that stabilized operations, preserved key distribution channels, and ultimately resulted in a successful sale to Land O’Lakes.

He has a broad generalist background with substantial industry experience in construction and construction products, mining (coal, gypsum) & aggregates, paper, oil & gas, chemicals, pipelines, agriculture, distribution, shared services, and commodity trading.
