Situation

After a large failed acquisition, the Company defaulted on its debt and surrendered equity to lenders. Costs were inflated and the management team was unwilling / unable to address its problems – including declining, sales excessive SG&A costs, poor production planning, and inconsistent inventory management.

Engagement

G2 was hired to run a Phase I Assessment and provide a clear set of alternatives for the lenders and Board – including recommendations regarding the future path of existing restructuring plan. G2 later installed a Chief Restructuring Officer and executed a Phase II Operational and Financial Restructuring.

Outcome

G2 acted in an interim management capacity for the Company, significantly reducing SG&A while adding structure to the business. G2 helped the Company increase margins by pivoting the product line away from commodities and toward higher-value items, instituting a proper sales and procurement processes, and reducing inventory by $1.5MM – which collectively increased liquidity from $4.0MM to $9.0MM. G2 also identified and hired a new CEO, and put the Company on track to double EBITDA on a 12-month go-forward basis.
