Nate McOmber

Managing Director, Insolvency & Fiduciary Services

Nate McOmber is a Managing Director at G2 Capital Advisors and leads the firm’s ABC practice. Harnessing over 20 years of experience as an advisor, restructuring investment banker, operating executive, and fiduciary, he serves distressed companies and their stakeholders. He has been a featured speaker or author for the National Venture Capital Association, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, and the National Law Review.

Nate is widely recognized for his expertise in implementing comprehensive restructuring solutions for troubled companies, and is one of the nation’s foremost authorities on assignments for the benefit of creditors (ABCs). He also leads a variety of other special situations advisory engagements, including out-of-court workouts, asset sales, insolvency proceedings, and loan restructurings. Companies across a range of sectors appoint him as assignee representative, independent director, or chief restructuring officer. He oversees businesses during transitionary phases, operating companies to safeguard stakeholder interests, stabilize challenging situations, and minimize risk by managing orderly wind down processes. 

The Palo Alto native’s industry experience spans an array of sectors, including software, consumer products, life sciences, and energy innovation. He maintains a deep network in the venture capital, lender, and technology communities.

Prior to joining G2, Nate was a Senior Vice President at Sherwood Partners. Earlier he served on the leadership teams of cleantech companies backed by BP Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, SVB, and other providers of venture capital and venture debt. He began his career in consulting and subsequently joined AT&T Mobility to aid in the rollout of its nascent mobile email technology.

Nate lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and three children. He enjoys competitive tennis and the outdoors year-round. Nate holds a B.S. from the University of Utah and an MBA from Wharton.
