Matt Konkle

Chief Executive Officer

Matt Konkle is Chief Executive Officer of G2 Capital Advisors, a middle-market investment bank and restructuring advisory firm. He is responsible for G2’s overall strategic direction and performance, working closely with the firm’s leadership team across its investment banking, capital markets, and restructuring practices. Matt’s role spans G2’s national footprint, and he works regularly out of the firm’s Boston, New York, and Chicago markets as G2 continues to expand.

Matt brings a client’s perspective to his leadership of the firm. Before joining G2, he was a client for three years spanning buy-side, capital markets and sell-side mandates. Over the course of his operating career, he has led companies through multiple strategic exit events, most notably as President of Fifth Gear, an end-to-end unified commerce company he led from inception through its 2014 sale to Speed Commerce, where he then served as Chief Operating Officer overseeing a team of over 1,500 employees.

Prior to Fifth Gear, Matt was President of an enterprise software company in the transportation & logistics sector, where he led the commercialization of the company’s technology solutions and all corporate development activities to include multiple acquisitions and strategic partnerships. Matt has also served as Chief Financial Officer of Reverse911, an emergency management software company sold to Golden Gate Capital, and held a finance leadership role at Aprimo, an enterprise marketing management software company sold to Teradata (NYSE: TDC).

Matt joined G2 to lead its Technology & Business Services practice before being named Head of Industry Teams and later President. Matt remains closely involved with G2’s clients today, most notably in the firm’s Transportation & Logistics sector.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Matt is a lifelong Midwesterner with roots in Indiana and Michigan. He is an instrument-rated private pilot and avid Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox baseball fan. He and his wife have three adult children based in Austin, Texas, and Carmel, Indiana.
