Brian Cohen is the Managing Director, Head of Consumer & Retail for G2, with a focus on executing strategic M&A transactions, strategic planning & execution, and capital raises for emerging brands.
Brian is a seasoned and recognized business and marketing executive, visionary and change agent with nearly 25 years experience in enterprise-level operations and leadership, general management, marketing, digital transformation and eCommerce. He has a proven track record across every stop as a hands-on entrepreneur, business builder, growth driver and team leader across a variety of industry verticals
Most recently, Brian was the CEO of Match Marketing Group, a $100MM, PE-Owned North American marketing services organization with 500+ employees across the US and Canada. As part of a 2-year enterprise reimagination, Brian led the financial turnaround to profitability and stability while simultaneously modernizing Match’s data-driven go-to-market approach, new business philosophies, and marketplace position. He facilitated the sale of MMG during the Covid-19 pandemic for 2x the expected return.
Brian is also a Board Director for AstronetX, PBC, an early-stage aerospace startup co-founded by a former Director of Astrophysics in the Science Mission Directorate at NASA. The company offers the global space-science community access to observatory satellites, lunar missions and planetary missions to pursue frontier studies of our solar system, our galaxy, and beyond. Brian provides general management and financial oversight to the management team on an on-going basis.
Prior to Match and AstronetX, Brian held a variety of roles at Epsilon, including Chief Operating Officer, Head of Digital Integration, Head of eCommerce, and President & Managing Director of Consumer & Retail SBU Catapult Marketing. During Brian’s tenure at Catapult, the organization showed tremendous growth, with a 17% Topline CAGR and 32% Bottom Line CAGR from 2012-2016. The business grew 261% on the topline during this time.
A recognized thought leader in the field of brand, retail and digital marketing, Brian is one of only 11 Distinguished Faculty Members at the Path to Purchase Institute, and his thought leadership on Brand and Business Evolution, Consumer Products, eCommerce, and Emerging Media & Technology can be seen in industry leading publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Digiday, Ad Week, eMarketer, Ad Age, et al, and as a speaker at the Ad Age Brand Summit, GDS CMO Summit, and The Path-to-Purchase Institute Summit and Expo.
Brian holds a BBA from Pace University in New York, and MBA for the University of Connecticut School of Business.
