The Granite Group – Since arriving at The Granite Group in 2001, Bill has held several roles including Branch Manager, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
As Manager of the Worcester branch, Bill increased sales by over 40% in three years. As SVP, Bill oversaw the acquisition of a $50M eight branch wholesaler in Connecticut. He managed the entire acquisition process, including reducing a redundant workforce of 30 FTE, integrating new branches on The Granite Group tech platform, rationalizing product offerings and growing sales.
Currently, Bill holds the position of Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Bill is directly responsible for oversees purchasing, distribution, sales, operations, HR and finance. Bill and his team have doubled sales to over $170M since 2001. In addition to his operating responsibilities, Bill plays an active leadership role in the execution of the company’s M&A strategy
Additionally, Bill launched an HVAC offering and renovated the company’s commercial delivery process. In response to economic downturn, he led a restructuring process to remove over $7M in SG&A in 2009 and managed the company to profitability throughout the downturn.
Bill holds a Bachelors of Science from Georgetown University and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s OPM program. From 1997-1998, Bill volunteered as a schoolteacher in the public school system in New Orleans. He worked at the St. Louis Cathedral School and coached various sports and activities for the children from some of New Orleans most underserved areas. Today, Bill serves on Board of the Nativity School of Worcester, a non-profit, 100% scholarship based middle school serving underprivileged boys in Worcester.
